Children and Divorce
This site was conceived after many years of working with families in divorce situations. The issues raised by parents, the many professionals who work with them, and the children themselves, have challenged us to come up with a resource site that will be of help to all those who have the best interests of the children of divorce at heart.

Divorce and Children
This site attempts to help parents explain the change that comes about during a divorce.  It includes many resources such as ‘Do’s and Don’ts’, how to talk to a child about divorce, how to continue parenting a child once you are divorced, and many other ways to help your child cope with a divorce.

Divorce Matters:  A Child’s View
This site shows a child’s point of view during a divorce for every age from infant to adolescents.  Each point of view explains what the child understands, how they react, and what parents can do during each one of the points of view.

Earthquake in Zipland
Earthquake in Zipland is a computer game that allows children of divorce to express their feelings and give their parents the opportunity to work through these issues.  Designed to increase communication between parents and children, the game comes with a comprehensive Parent’s Guide with tips and information on how to use the game with your child most effectively.  Also features numerous articles and stories about children and divorce.

Telling the Children
This article tells parents how to go about telling a child of an impending divorce.  The article includes things such as preparing the announcement, what to say, and how to deal with the aftermath.  Also includes links to other articles such as ‘Children of Divorce and the Adjustment’.

It’s Not Your Fault
Practical info for children, young people and parents going through a family break-up.  This website is designed for children to explain that divorce is not their fault.  Advice, information, and things to remember for kids whose parents are splitting up. Includes sections for both children and teenagers.

Kid’s Turn
Kids' Turn is a program that helps kids learn about divorce.  Children can read what other kids feel about divorce, and there are games to play, and activities to help them learn about divorce.

Divorce Source:  Children & Divorce
Large resource with many topics to help parents and children get though a divorce.  Topics include: Custody, Visitation, and Child Support, Telling the Children You Are Getting Divorced, The Children's Perspective on Divorce, The Different Age Stages as They Relate to Divorce, Creating and Understanding Parenting Plans Guidelines for Parents & the Rights of Children, The Effects of Divorce on Children, Managing Your Single Life With Children, Child Behavior Checklist.

Rights of Children of Divorce
List of things that children should do after their parents become divorced.  These “rights” can help children stay in touch with both parents and not feel neglected.  These tips are simple but useful for any child from a divorced family.

The Effects of Divorce on Children
This website includes many articles and resources for children and parents of divorce.  Such topics include, myths about children and divorce, what you shouldn’t do to a child during divorce, how to keep divorce from having a long term effect, and questions kids ask during a divorce.
